Toshiba to Be Japan's Largest Solar Power Provider

Electronics giant Toshiba is going to build several large solar plants in quake-struck Fukushima Japan. The plants will begin construction by the end of this year and are expected to be operating by the end of 2014.

Toshiba will pay $379.6 million to construct the large solar plants and they will provide 100 MW of photovoltaic power to the struggling nation.

Japanese telecommunications and internet corporation Softbank has announced they are going to build a 200 MW project in Japan's Hokkaido.
